I hope that each of you had a restful and relaxing spring break. We are back in school for the final push to the end of the school year on June 6th for seniors and June 10th for grades 9-11. It will be a busy time from now until the end of the year. We will be having those students who have tested this year on reading and math and have not met, complete a second round of state testing. We want to give students every opportunity to pass state tests this year because the state test changes next year and with it comes only one attempt each year. We will begin the scheduling process as soon as we know our staffing numbers for next year. We hope to have students scheduled and schedules printed and sent home with final report cards in June. Spring sports are now in full swing and I hope the weather improves going forward.

This is the last week before we head in to spring break March 24-28. Students have just completed state math testing. Any students who have not passed this testing will have opportunities to retest later in the spring. When we return from spring break we will start scheduling students for classes for this fall. I hope that you have a wonderful spring break week, and that the weather improves.

Congratulations to the girls basketball team on their win last Friday night over Marshfield in the play-in game for the girls state basketball playoffs. The team will now travel to Philomoth on Friday for the first round of the playoffs. Congratulations also to Colin Purinton who finished second in his weight class at the state wrestling tournament last weekend. State math testing will take place before spring break. Students will be doing testing on the computers and and it will include students in grades 9-12 although only those 9th graders who have had the math instruction that corresponds with the test items will be tested this spring. Students can take the math test up to three times a year. State writing testing is just finishing up. Spring sports are now starting and they include track, baseball, softball and golf. Hope the weather improves so that teams can get outside for practices.
